It’s been a sad week in Santa Rosa since the shooting death of 13-year-old Andy Lopez by a Sonoma County Sheriff Deputy who had mistaken Lopez’s replica toy gun as the real thing. As a parent, I shuttered to think of the unimaginable pain the Lopez family must be suffering.
So today, I headed downtown camera in hand, while my children played at school, to witness what would be a very peaceful protest; a lot of anger, a lot of energy with a mix of young and old participants. I thought this image said it best.
One has to give credit to the restraint and cool-headed behavior of the some 1500 marchers today that came to voice their anger. October 29, 2013. Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, California.
