This is my third year working on HARVESTER. The project is growing and so are the challenges for many of my subjects who come to the U.S. to work.
Images from the series will be on display at the Healdsburg Center for the Arts beginning on opening night, July 22, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm. This is a free event.

I was invited to produce portraits of Petaluma residents or anyone in the neighborhood at the Petaluma Arts Center on June 17, 2017. About 60 people showed up for the 4 hours I was shooting. These 3 portraits are my favorites. The top portrait is Cris Pulido with his 7-day-old daughter Eve. He’s the only resident I know in Petaluma and I met him back in 2011 when I did a long project about his decision to leave the gang life. He was first in line for the shoot. He hates having his photo taken and his wife told me that he only likes me to take his picture.
The portrait shoot was just a small part of a larger exhibit created by photographers Jude Mooney, Michael Woolsey, Paige Green, Ramin Rahimian and Michael Garlington that’s currently on display at the Petaluma Arts Center.
